Madness Ensues Greatest
Alone with this empty heart
Where do I even begin to start
The pain is there
My thoughts are clear
But to you still
I call dear
I walked alone without a throne
With no where to call a home
No one waits for me to come
Or comforts me when I am numb
My days are eternity’s long
With nights passing before begun
I’m dying inside oh so slow
My heart my mind, body and soul
This torment through I must go
But why does it have to be alone
Its awaken, dress, catch the bus
Schlep around into town, a mess
My body is done as the day begun
Mind is on fire from the hearts desire
Still survive the day crawl into bed
And its weep for a while all that’s been lost
Hate even longer count up all the costs
By then its off to the dreams of things not been
Where my heart and soul sing of their very best
Floods pour over break all my seams
As I stand here nothings as it seems
For I know my heart, all its wants
The eternal soul clings to the hope
Swept off my feet, my life’s defeat
Hit my knees, take anything you please
Burn it all if that’s what you need
But spare me a final hope and a dream
My writing is all that I have
Without it how will I know what I need
For my pen neglects all the filters in place
That stop me from spewing a mess
Its what shows the world the real me
How else can I be free
So I’ll hover o’er my journal
Write ’till I drop
Use and abuse this pen
Until it stops
For though I’m alone, cut to the bone
Thoughts keep me sane, away from the bane
As my heart drives me mad, all that was had
I’m lost in the city, my heads nearly hung
How much more until I am done
As I run from the pain, the ghosts stay near
Reminding me I am still one of them
Just as I reach my breaking point, look out
Its when I’m most filled with self doubt
That from my springs I do begin
To write all down that I’ve kept hidden within
