Solitude Of Mine

The music falls softly from headphones. Single light to keep my company as my mind erases all thoughts. Long day taken by horns and wrestled to bed just before I leave it behind. Emptiness embraces my hand, soon to consume all of my being. I look forward to those last moments knowing they’ll be swiftly given. Freedom’s light touch is felt as I pass through.

Instruments blend gently into crescendos, eliciting tranquility to emerge from its hiding place. Released is the body as through the mind, there is nothing left to fret over. Riding notes from to next whilst enlightened vision obstructs that which held so dear is lost to times immortal sands. Clocks strike twelve, the last hour of all to be know, as the final curtain comes to a call.

The tree is said to have fallen amongst silence in the woods. Better perhaps, it simply was too tired of standing still, and chose to lay alongside its fallen leaves. Clarity has struck with the force of a blank page inked over in the speed of understanding.
