Lone Dreams

Throughout the night
Throughout the dream
Only one constant
To the impossible scene

Her teary eyes dead set
Arms to forever be kept
Wrapped around in warm embrace
Keep lonely at bay and sleep

A single tear travels
From weary eyes clamped
As he whispers softly in ear
“I will return again in dream”

With the close of a door
And turn of a key
Her world burns
For he must leave

In the dark of her room
As tears slowly dry
He returns in dreams
One day as in life

For now she must release him
On a path all his own
To one day embrace him
They’ll from then be
No longer alone
