A Walk
In the dead of the night,
even all alone,
the shrieking cry
of the never-known…
From the depths dark deep,
hollowed cry’s to the bone.
Awake from a sweat
frantic look around;
nothing in the room
not even a sound.
Try to comprehend
what is going on.
Peering through the dark,
shadows move around.
Try to find the spark
before it all goes out.
Stare up at the ceiling,
try to wait it out.
The sounds becoming deafening,
my world quickly crumbling
as my mind continues wandering.
Each night, each dream,
each memory, each hope,
each fear, each eternity;
all quickly crumbling
as the dark encompasses.
Mind over matter, or
matter over mind;
what difference make,
still wouldn’t rhyme.
I’m tired of the insanity;
all dreams I had now vanishing.
Wish to turn back the clock,
with what luck, I’d be stuck;
spinning around the hands,
slowly counting sand.
See that girl over there,
she is one, I do care.
Little baby do not smear,
for I do wish to be there.
See you smile, no despair
with your hands towards the air.
Write a poem,
make a song.
Sing a whistle,
hum a tune.
Do not listen
to the spoon.
Do not fear the dark,
for there’s no one around.
Look through the night,
see to your heart.
Make sure it has nothing to fear…
Inside my mind at night,
things not so clear.
See them by daylight
if you should dare.
Wondering s, ramblings,
things of despair.
Slip into the fantasy,
out of reality;
see what I can
without a plan.
Maybe begin to understand…
